Family-Friendly Fourth of July Fun in Sunrise

If you’re in Sunrise during this upcoming Fourth of July, you’ll be able to celebrate and partake in all the usual traditions without leaving the city, and while staying outside in the beautiful summer weather. You can easily bring your whole family to a concert and fireworks show, close to the Sawgrass Grand, and there’s no charge for attending.

The event starts at dinnertime, and will have food and beverage vendors on-site. Everyone in your family will be able to choose what they want to eat and drink, which means no fussy eater will be left unsatisfied. If you’ve still got time before the music starts, your children can keep themselves busy on rides and inflatables that will be in the BB&T Center just for them.

There will be two bands playing at this celebration. Havoc 305, a local favorite, will kick off the night with rock and Top 40 hits that you and your children will know and be able to dance along to. The headliners, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, will keep the party going with some contemporary big band, swing, and jazz. This band is intent on revitalizing the genres of music original to the United States, and even if you’ve never heard of them, you’ll quickly recognize their hits from television shows and movies like Friends, Despicable Me, and Phineas and Ferb.

It wouldn’t be a July 4th celebration without fireworks, and after the bands have played, a spectacular display will end the night at a family-friendly time. Once all the excitement is over, it’ll be easy to return to the Sawgrass Grand, and while your kids will probably be ready for bed after all the fun, you can always unwind with a snack and a drink at The Grand Café at the hotel before you turn in.
